Ruth, mom of 2nd grader-
“Our daughter struggled with reading, comprehension and spelling. Through working with Emily and the Wilson Reading Program we have seen her improve in her ability to distinguish sounds, which is reflected in her reading and spelling words correctly when writing, as well as being able to recall and retell what she has read.

Emily is enthusiastic and was accommodating of our schedule and location for sessions. Our daughter enjoyed each time and it is clear she has retained and continues to utilize the strategies she has learned to be successful.”

“We went to Emily lost about how to help our daughter after she was diagnosed with Dyslexia. Emily is very patient and knowledgeable and walked us through the process.  She is always prepared and committed and genuinely cares for our daughter’s development. Our daughter has made remarkable progress working with Emily! We continue to have our daughter work with Emily to help her maintain her skills. I would highly recommend Emily and we are so lucky to have found her!!!”

“I was very fortunate to find Emily to help guide and teach the language arts portion of my homeschool in 1st and 2nd grade.  My daughter struggles with auditory processing disorder, ADHD, expressive language delay, dyslexia and dysgraphia.  During our first meeting, Emily helped guide my decision about which reading curriculum would be best for my daughter.  She also provided some training for me to teach the curriculum.  Over the next two years she taught weekly lessons.  My daughter was always excited to see “Miss Emily” and the lessons kept her captivated and motivated.  Each lesson was carefully prepared with interactive, high-quality materials.  Emily’s master’s degree in speech-language pathology was particularly helpful, as she had a great understanding of my daughter’s auditory processing and language delays.  Emily was able to recommend additional activities that I practiced with my daughter to target these delays.  Over the two years, Emily taught various lessons covering the full range of language arts (decoding, spelling, reading comprehension, writing, fluency, grammar and literature).  Toward the end of 2nd grade, we had to move unexpectedly, and Emily was able to continue lessons remotely using Zoom.  The lessons went smoothly and kept my daughter’s attention.  Emily was quite adept at using the software and continued to deliver high-quality interactive lessons.  By the end of 2nd grade, my daughter was well-prepared to enter 3rd grade at a school for students with learning disabilities.  I highly recommend Emily!  She is extremely knowledgeable, friendly, and cares deeply about helping children struggling with literacy.”

“After working with Emily Mora, our child is now reading at grade level and is enjoying reading graphic novels independently. Emily is great with children and has done an awesome job being engaging and fun while teaching foundational reading skills. Each session is also a confidence boost for our child. Emily has helpful suggestions for us as parents, too. I am so glad we found her and recommend her without reservations.”

“I can’t say enough about Emily and her work with my son.  Emily worked with him for three years due to his reading and writing differences.  Before my son worked with Emily, he was not confident in English Language Arts (ELA) or reading and writing assignments and felt he would never be able to understand ELA concepts.  After working with Emily, he has learned how to make the most from his differences and now is confident in ELA and with all reading and writing assignments.  As a result of working with Emily, my son received the highest possible scores in his 5th grade end of year exams.  Emily is thoughtful, patient and kind in her approach with children and connects with her students in different and fun ways.  I know that because of Emily’s work with my son, he is now set up for success both during school and beyond.”
