My name is Emily Mora and I work privately with students in North Carolina area who are experiencing challenges with word-level decoding, spelling, reading comprehension, writing and fluency, and oral language development.
I have a B.A. in Psychology from Wake Forest University and an M.Ed. in Speech-Language Pathology from The University of Virginia. I am a licensed Speech Pathologist in North Carolina, with certification through the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association.
I have completed the Dyslexia Training Institute’s Dyslexia Certificate Program, which focuses on the Orton-Gillingham Approach and multi-sensory interventions for reading and writing, as well as their Dyslexia Advocate Certificate Program. This additional training helps me support students and families as they navigate their school’s special education system.
I also provide comprehensive, private language and literacy evaluations to children aged 5-18, to diagnose dyslexia and other language based disorders at Therapy and Education Connections, in Holly Springs, North Carolina.

In addition to working with students, I am a training mentor for the Dyslexia Training Institute’s Dyslexia Certificate Program. I support professionals and parents who are completing their certification, as they learn to apply Orton-Gillingham based approaches to their practicum experience.
