About

My name is Emily Mora and I work privately with students in North Carolina who are experiencing challenges with word-level decoding, spelling, reading comprehension, writing, fluency, oral language development, and executive function skills.

I have a B.A. in Psychology from Wake Forest University and an M.Ed. in Speech-Language Pathology from The University of Virginia. I am a licensed Speech Pathologist in North Carolina, with certification through the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association. I have my Structured Literacy Dyslexia Interventionist (C-SLDI) designation from The Center for Effective Reading Instruction.

I completed the Dyslexia Training Institute’s Dyslexia Certificate Program, which focuses on the Orton-Gillingham approach and multimodal interventions for reading and writing, as well as their Dyslexia Advocate Certificate Program. This additional training helps me support students and families as they navigate their school special education system. In addition to extensive ongoing continuing education around language and literacy, I have studied cognitive processing and executive function assessment and intervention at Seeds of Learning with SLP and executive function specialist, Tera Sumpter.

In addition to working with students, I am a training mentor for the Dyslexia Training Institute’s Dyslexia Certificate Program. I support professionals and parents who are completing their certification, as they learn to apply Orton-Gillingham based approaches to their practicum experience.
